Dan can help private sector employers, developers,
trade and business associations, public and nonprofit
agencies, labor unions, lenders and other vendors to
design, obtain, implement and manage employer-
assisted housing benefit programs. Working on a
consultant and/or performance-based basis Dan can:

Work with Developers by:

Creating marketing strategies for developers
including:

identifying employers that might be
particularly receptive to offering a housing
benefit.
organizing and/or participating in developer
sponsored employer-assisted housing
conferences, workshops, and events.
developing presentation materials for
developers.
marketing strategies for developers who
want to talk to employers on their own.

Identifying and recruiting employers potentially
interested in working with a developer on a benefit
for employees.
Creating developer housing benefit products that
can be marketed generally or to specific
employers.
Assisting employers and developers in reaching
reasonable, mutual expectations of each other.
Identifying and seeking other public and private
subsidies that the developer, the employer or the
employee may be eligible to receive that reduce
development costs or acquisition costs for the
employee.
Participating as part of the planning/community
development team through the site planning and
regulatory process.

Work with trade, business and professional
organizations to:

Design and participate in workshops and briefings
to familiarize members with why employer-assisted
housing benefit programs might be right for their
members and how programs can be cost-
effectively offered.
Design housing benefit programs that the
organization can offer to its members and the
employees of its membership.
Work on an ongoing basis to help the organization
market the program to its members and manage
the implementation of the benefit on behalf of the
organization and its membership.

Work with the Public Sector to:

Design housing benefit programs that catalyze
employers to participate in employer-assisted
housing efforts.
Design marketing strategies to involve employers
in affordable housing issues generally, and in
offering employer-assisted housing programs,
specifically.
Create strategies that leverage employer, public
and other private sector interests to increase
affordable housing opportunity.
Link city and state economic development
initiatives with employer-assisted housing interests.
Create strategies that increase capacity of publicly
supported nonprofit organizations to achieve their
missions.
Create cost-effective programs for public sector
employees including teachers, emergency
services and other public employees.

Work with lenders and other vendors to:

Create products that can be readily offered and
accessed by employers interested in offering
housing benefits to their employees.
Market programs and create marketing strategies
to enable those with housing benefit products to
better reach employers and others.

Work with labor unions to:

Assess member interest in receiving various forms
of housing assistance.
Design program proposals to be the subject of
negotiation within the collective bargaining
process.
Create and implement programs that can be
offered outside the collective bargaining process.
